'Partner-owned' means our most important resources--People--drive the innovation, growth, and success that make H-E-B The Greatest Omnichannel Retailing Company.Do you have a:HEART FOR PEOPLE... commitment to work hard to make sure your Customers and Partners come first?HEAD FOR BUSINESS... the know-how to combine first-class customer service and merchandising / selling?PASSION FOR RESULTS... ability to meet sales goals in a fast-paced environment, while handling multiple concurrent tasks?We are looking for:- certified Bakery Expert or equivalent (e.g., RBA-certified Master Baker) or- School of Retail Management (SORM) training- experience leading people, ordering, inventory maintenance, and shrink control- communication and organization skills- ability to supervise and train a high-volume production teamWhat is the work?Management:- Spends majority of time using independent judgment making employment-related and business decisions, or effectively recommending such decisions, including product- and department-related strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, suspending, discharging, rewarding, or otherwise engaging in resolving Partner-related matters- Trains School of Retail Management (SORM) and School of Retail Leadership (SORL) trainees- Assists all Partners in the department with their duties; coaches / trains; and evaluates as needed- Holds Partners accountable for following SOPs- Prepares work schedules, orders product, controls inventory, monitors department budget and payrollProduction:- Prepares the production plan; ensures correct quantities are produced- Maintains correct product levels by conducting weekly reviews of production quantities- Monitors showcase production and stales tracking- Accountable for results of Bakery ScorecardSales:- Executes merchandising programs and drives sales by producing appropriate variety and quantity of bakery products daily- Responsible for large product assortment and sales volume- Increases department contribution by effectively managing shrink and inventory levels- Maintains the highest levels of customer service through personal example, SOP compliance, and accountabilityFood Safety / Sanitation:- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and H-E-B policy and standards for product food safety and sanitation- Maintains safety / sanitation of equipment and department; maintains sanitation standards throughout the work areaWhat is your background?- 3 years of leadership experience- Certified Bakery Expert or equivalent (e.g., Retail Bakery Association-Certified Master Baker preferred)- SORM or equivalent- Food Safety certification- Forklift / power jack trainingDo you have what it takes to be a fit as an H-E-B Bakery Department Manager?- Advanced interpersonal and verbal / written communication skills- Strong leadership skills- Analytical skills- Organization and planning skills- Feedback skills- Computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel), and H-E-B systems- Ability to adapt to stressful situations with change management- Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks- Ability to delegate effectivelyCan you...- Function in a fast-paced retail environment- Stand and lift 50 pounds occasionally- Stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, reach overhead, and side to side throughout shift- Possess hand / finger dexterity- Safely maneuver around moving mechanical parts- Work in a cooler environment on a regular basis, and in an extreme cold environment on an occasional basis- Work in extreme heat from ovens and fryers- Work extended hours and varying work schedules as dictated by the business
