GZA GEOENVIRONMENTAL INC is Hiring a Project Manager Level Building Services Professional Near Bedford, NH

GZA is seeking a Project Manager Level asbestos, lead, hazardous building material and indoor air quality professional for our practice based our Bedford, New Hampshire office. The position offers great potential for professional growth in an exciting working environment and the opportunity to apply the latest building services technology to a variety of projects throughout New England.

The qualified candidate must have strong leadership and project management experience and direct business development experience, with the ability to generate project leads and build client relationships.

GZA building services works on a wide variety of projects including, but not limited to, building renovation and demolition support, building hazardous material characterization, and mold and indoor air quality studies. A sound knowledge of engineering principles relating to design and hazardous building material characterization is essential for this position. The successful candidate must have a strong background in evaluating asbestos, lead paint, and other hazardous building materials to support planning, design, and construction management activities for a variety of public and private transportation, utility, energy, and development projects.

This is a management position that requires direct interaction with clients and the ability to manage and mentor GZA existing staff of project-level practitioners and professionals. You will also work closely with other GZA practices and personnel in Bedford and other GZA offices across the country.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing project team, delegating work to office and field staff, and executing day-to-day project needs.
  • Communicating effectively and efficiently with contractors, clients, and team members.
  • Monitoring and managing project compliance with contractual agreements and budgets, including terms of agreement, changes in scope, and billing process.
  • Conducting/reviewing technical analyses/calculations for the design and construction in support of a variety of projects.
  • Supporting the development of construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, bid documents.
  • Preparing and reviewing hazardous building materials survey reports and other written project reports.
  • Participating in meetings and agency consultation.
  • Providing business development support including preparing proposals.
  • Managing and mentoring GZA existing practitioners, professionals, and support staff.
  • Working on multidisciplinary project teams including construction management and building services teams.

Position Requirements:

  • B.S. is required. Master’s Degree is a plus.
  • Asbestos Professional Designer, Inspector and Management Planner certificates required. Mold investigator/consultant and lead risk assessor certificates are a plus.
  • A minimum of 7-9 years of experience in the asbestos, hazardous material, and indoor air quality profession, with direct involvement in asbestos and hazardous materials inspections, asbestos abatement design and operations and maintenance planning, asbestos project monitoring, and mold assessments and remediation design.
  • Direct experience completing projects with public sector/municipal agencies in the New England Region is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience with design and development of sampling strategies, management plans, technical specifications, remediation plans, cost estimating and other related bidding documents.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to speak publicly.
  • Self-starter, able to complete tasks with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Strong professional judgment, consistency, attention to detail, and background for delivering high-quality work products.
  • Innovative problem solving with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to think critically and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Solid project financial management skills: knowledge of production support systems and personal computer proficiency are all required competencies.
  • Experience in providing technical and project leadership to practitioners, professionals, and support staff.
  • Proven experience with and directing staff with investigative work and project oversight/monitoring is considered essential for this position.
