What We Are Looking For

GVEC is looking to hire you for the position of Power Supply Analyst Intern to deliver the unexpected with a willingness to continuously develop yourself, your department, and our organization. As a Power Supply Analyst Intern, you will help support the team that is responsible for GVEC’s long and short-term power procurement strategies, energy market operations within the ERCOT market, as well as the related risk management activities associated with these tasks by producing ad hoc reports that help GVEC have a wholistic view of their data for making smart business decisions. This role is ideal for a highly self-motivated individual with a strong passion for learning and problem solving as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.

How You’ll Help

• Provide data analysis and trending to proactively help GVEC make better decisions
• Create reports utilizing BI tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Excel, etc.
• Interpret data and communicate complex findings
• Provide testing, troubleshooting and validation on data sets and reporting
• Train stakeholders on new/existing analytics and products
• Build upon business knowledge, integrations and front/back-end software internally and externally to help design efficient and informative dashboards.
• Communicate with key stakeholders and end users on their business needs
• Other data analysis duties as assigned

Experience/Skills You’ll Need

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university/college program (Master’s preferred) with minimum (3.0) GPA
• Strong data analysis skills with the ability to do independent research
• Ability to write basic SQL queries against MS SQL Server and Oracle databases
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Collaborative and able to work independently with limited direction
• Positive attitude with the ability to work accurately and fast under pressure
• Leadership skills to play a product-owner role to multiple projects

Preferred Experience/Skills

• Experience with Power BI
• Experience in a language for statistical computing (R or Python)
• Knowledge of Wholesale Electricity Markets, preferably in ERCOT

Your Pay

The pay for this role is $20.00/hr. and will be commensurate based on your skills, qualifications and experience.
