What We Are Looking For

GVEC is looking to hire you for the position of Data Analyst to deliver the unexpected with a willingness to continuously develop yourself, your department, and our organization. As a Data Analyst, you will help support the Data Analytics initiatives by building ad hoc reports and insightful reports that help GVEC have a holistic view of the data for making smart business decisions. This role is ideal for a highly self-motivated individual with a strong passion for data and problem solving as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.

How You’ll Help

  • Create efficient and informative reports utilizing BI tools such as Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
  • Interpret data and communicate complex findings to non-technical business users
  • Provide testing, troubleshooting and validation on data sets and reports
  • Train business users on new/existing BI tools and reports
  • Utilize both on-premises and cloud data sources to enhance business knowledge and insights.
  • Communicate with key stakeholders and end users on their business needs
  • Other data analysis duties as assigned

Experience/Skills You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, Economics or applicable relevant experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and confidently
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Collaborative and able to work independently with limited direction
  • Positive attitude, ability to work accurately and fast under pressure
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to write SQL queries against MS SQL Server and Oracle databases
  • Experience creating reports using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel, etc.

Preferred Experience/Skills

  • Experience using Microsoft Power Platform
  • Experience using Power BI, M Language, DAX, Power Query and SQL
  • Knowledge of statistics and statistical programming such as R or Python
  • Knowledge of general programming such as R, Python, PowerShell, etc.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and data modeling

Your Pay

The pay range for this role is between $75,000-$98,000/yr. and will be commensurate based on your skills, qualifications and experience. In addition, GVEC ties cash bonuses to a multitude of organizational benchmarks set forth annually.
