GunnCo Pump & Control, Inc. is the manufacturer of Sidesloper leachate pumping systems. We are 25 year old established small business located Cumming, Ga proving equipment and services through southeast and 48 states for modern landfills to maintain federally and state mandated compliance to pollution control regulations. Our goal is to provide the highest quality equipment in the industry and a high level of support to engineers, contractors, and end users from cradle to grave of the system from system design to decommission which is typically a 30 plus year period per system. Each site expands periodically with new or replacement systems. We sell largely based upon prior and established customers and through our unique designs and specifications though consulting engineers. Our field support is an essential service to provide installations, field repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance services for our users.
Responsibilities:
- Manage small and large projects and parts requirements from under $100 to over $200,000 from initial contact to final completion in a timely fasion and meet bid dates, milestones, and delivery requirments.
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and contract documents. Majority of project are our own engineering specifications. Some projects may be bid as alternate to specified manufacturer or design.
- Prepare detailed estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and equipment costs
- Prepare formal bid proposals, budget estimates, and quotes as required for systems, parts, and services for customers.
- Collaborate with project managers, shop and field technicians to provide required equipment, designs, and meet customers needs and requirements .
- Generate engineering submittal packages as required and review designs for accuracy prior to manufacture.
- Work with sales, production, and accounting personnel towards successful and profitable project completion.
- Quote and process parts requests by researching files to determine required items. We strive to make it easy for customer by providing a high level of support. Our systems are customized for each location based upon pump size, control features, length of carrier pipe, available power, and customers needs and preferences
- Generate formal project acknowledgements and communicate order status to customer.
- Develope and maintain relationships with end users, contractors, and engineers to prospect and promote future business.
- Maintain accurate log of quotes and review with management periodically. Follow up proposals and respond to customers needs and requests.
- Visit customers or job sites when required
- Attend regional trade and education conferences when required.
Skills:
- Associates or BS degree required With previous estimating or industrial sales experience. Highest consideration for candidates with engineering or technical degree or considerable experience of 5 years plus.
- Able to demostrate willingness and ability to pick up phone and call customers or vendors as needed to clarify projects, discuss deliveries, customer needs, resolve issues , and build lomg term relationships. We believe avoiding misunderstandings and mistakes are our responsibility and can be avoided with proper communication
- Draft emails to confirm verbal discussions regarding technical issues, delivery dates, pricing issues, etc.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills for accurate cost calculations
- Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Detail oriented with a focus on accuracy in estimating
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
- Work within a small company to coordinate with others and carry out duties to companies benefit. We do not have a "Not my job" clause. You will pitch in and help where needed.
- Must be self motivated and self starter. Comphensation based and skill, ability, performance, and desire to earn.
- Management skills and advancement aspersions a plus.
- Knowledge of pump hydraulic principles, rotating equipment, control designs, electrical terminology, ability to read electrical control schematics are a plus.
