This position will be responsible for directing field crews conducting all aspects of habitat restoration, invasive species removal and control, biological monitoring operations, logistics and report writing as directed by the project manager. An emphasis will be placed on assisting with report writing and other office related tasks. The Staff Restoration Ecologist will have at least Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources, Environmental Science, Botany, Agriculture, Forestry, or related field, 5 years of relevant experience. A graduate degree will substitute for 2 years of relevant experience. The Staff Restoration Ecologist will have an average annual time sold of at least 80 percent. Responsibilities for this position include assisting with all GSRC field operations, conducting herbicide applications at project sites, plant identification, planting containerized plants, biological monitoring, preparation of soils for planting, removal of plant material from project sites, placement of erosion control materials, and periodic mowing and hand maintenance of plants and landscapes. In addition, the Staff Restoration Ecologist must be able to obtain a pesticide applicator license in (QAL or QAC) in the state of California. This position will is located in our Carlsbad, California Office and requires skills to plan, schedule, coordinate and report for all of the work tasks listed above. The Staff Restoration Ecologist will manage crews of 3-12 field staff, administrate GSRC policy and maintain client relationships. Salary DOE.
