JOB TITLE: Donor Engagement Coordinator 

SUPERVISOR: Annual Giving Manager

Pay Grade: Pay Grade 5 Pay Grade Range: $46,700 - $74,800

Starting Salary Range: $46,700 - $53,000

The Donor Engagement Coordinator plays a pivotal role within GMRI's Development team. Responsible for coordinating and executing engagement strategies, this position directly contributes to GMRI's fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Annual Giving Manager, the Donor Engagement Coordinator supports the stewardship of current donors and the conversion of prospective donors through various engagement strategies to achieve fundraising goals.

Responsibilities/Tasks:

Responsibilities:

75% Events - Public and Private Events:

  • Coordinate and execute public and private events in alignment with the engagement strategy throughout the year.
  • Coordinate event program, logistics, staffing, communications, and day-of tasks.
  • Cultivate relationships with vendors, partners, and GMRI staff and leadership to execute events seamlessly.
  • Develop and communicate event organizing documentation, assign roles to internal staff, and ensure preparedness.
  • Act as the point of contact for attendees, responding to inquiries and RSVPs with professionalism.
  • Execute select post-event data management and attendee follow-up strategy, including data entry, content coordination, and execution.
  • Provide support to the Marketing Manager in executing strategic partnership events as needed.
  • Support the evaluation of event strategy based on engagement, fundraising, and acquisition goals set by the Annual Giving Manager.

25% Donor Engagement Support and Administration:

  • Support appeal processes by executing select follow-up, data management, and execution tasks in coordination with the Philanthropy Services team and Annual Giving Manager.
  • Coordinate select giving society benefit fulfillment activities (non-event).
  • Prepare email appeals in Mailchimp according to the strategy set by Annual Giving Manager
  • Oversee inventory of fundraising materials and coordinate with the Annual Giving Manager to ensure an inventory is adequate.
  • Prepare select development-related communications, such as donor newsletters.
  • Support tracking donor engagement in CRM for the Annual Giving Manager, including event debriefs, donor interaction records, and updates to contact information.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 0-3 years of experience in a nonprofit fundraising setting. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or work experience equivalent. 
  • Events experience is necessary. 

Other Preferred Qualifications:

  • Comfort with delegation and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Familiarity with CRM systems is a plus, but not required. 
  • Experience with Mailchimp, Asana, and Eventbrite is desirable but not necessary.

Gulf of Maine Research Institute offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Salary: $46,700 to $53,000
