POSITION TITLE: Business Systems Analyst
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Business Systems Analyst plays a pivotal role in capturing functional and technical requirements essential for modifying existing systems or developing new ones within our retail environment. This role involves crafting comprehensive solution design documents to guide the implementation of requested modifications. Collaborating closely with business analysis management, development teams, project managers, and other internal and external stakeholders, the Business Systems Analyst facilitates the successful completion of company projects and initiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Collaborate with stakeholders from both business and technical teams to elicit and gather requirements, ensuring appropriate stakeholder involvement and fostering an environment conducive to active participation and contribution.
Develop project documentation, including requirements breakdowns, current state and operational flowchart diagrams, meeting minutes, solution designs, and project status updates.
Facilitate approvals from IT Management and stakeholders on project requirements and decisions, actively documenting project risks and devising mitigation plans.
Provide regular status updates to IT Management and stakeholders, outlining timelines and upcoming activities.
Offer input to IT Management regarding priority setting and work order, while managing and facilitating change requests effectively.
Evaluate business user needs, define technical problems, and collaborate with engineering/development staff to identify appropriate solutions.
Recommend quality/process improvements for existing program functions and, depending on project requirements, assist in creating unit tests.
Coordinate project task assignments with the Project Leader and meticulously document changes in the ticketing system.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 1-3 Years
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Strong project coordination abilities with a keen attention to detail.
Proficiency in creating specification documentation, flowcharts, and gathering requirements.
Expertise in business and system analysis methodologies.
SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE (equivalent tools to be considered): JIRA, Confluence, Visio, MS Project
