About This Role:

GU is a family-owned market-leading global sports nutrition brand, and we are looking for a Business Intelligence Manager to join our team!

Job Overview: The BI (Business Intelligence) Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of business intelligence strategies and initiatives within the organization. This role involves leveraging data analytics, reporting tools, and technologies to provide actionable insights that drive informed decision-making and improve operational efficiency. The BI Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify business needs, develop BI solutions, and ensure data integrity and accuracy across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. BI Strategy and Planning:

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive business intelligence strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
    • Define key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and benchmarks to measure business performance and track progress towards strategic objectives.
    • Identify opportunities for leveraging data analytics and BI tools to drive innovation, improve business processes, and enhance decision-making capabilities.

2. Data Management and Governance:

    • Oversee the collection, integration, and management of data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and integrity.
    • Establish data governance policies, standards, and procedures to maintain data security, privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with IT and data management teams to design and implement data warehouses and other infrastructure to support BI initiatives.

3. Reporting and Visualization:

    • Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that provide actionable insights to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
    • Customize BI tools and platforms to meet the specific needs of different user groups and departments, ensuring ease of use and accessibility of information.
    • Train end-users on BI tools and best practices for data analysis, interpretation, and decision-making.

4. Data Analysis and Insights:

    • Conduct advanced data analysis, statistical modeling, and predictive analytics to uncover trends, patterns, and correlations in business data.
    • Translate complex data findings into meaningful insights, recommendations, and actionable strategies to drive business performance and competitive advantage.
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for process optimization, revenue growth, cost reduction, and risk mitigation.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Partner with business leaders, department heads, and functional teams to understand their BI needs, priorities, and challenges.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on BI and data analytics, providing guidance and support to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.
    • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement by promoting awareness and adoption of BI tools and methodologies.

6. Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of BI solutions and initiatives, tracking key performance metrics and ROI.
    • Identify areas for improvement and optimization in BI processes, tools, and methodologies, driving efficiency gains and scalability.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in business intelligence and analytics, recommending opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (5 years) in business intelligence, data analytics, or related roles, with demonstrated expertise in BI tools, technologies, and methodologies in a CPG organization, preferably in a managerial role.
  • Strong technical skills in data manipulation, SQL, data warehousing, and BI platforms (e.g., Jet, Power BI, Tableau, …).
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis, data modeling, and data visualization techniques, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders across the organization.
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on innovation, passion for problem-solving, and driven toward continuous improvement in BI strategies and initiatives.
  • Project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage competing priorities, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Certifications in business intelligence, data analytics, or related areas (e.g., CBIP, Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate) preferred.
