Team or Function Overview

Siplast is a leading manufacturer of high-performance commercial roofing and waterproofing materials. Siplast, a brand of GAF Commercial, has corporate offices in Addison, TX, a manufacturing facility in Arkadelphia, AR and supports a national sales and service team.

Summary

The Sample Technician will be primarily responsible for the fabrication, preparation, and shipping of product and systems samples for general marketing, and high impact sales initiatives/programs. This position provides meticulous detail and craftsmanship, as the end sample product is a representation of the company and its products. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supporting product demonstrations, both at the local customer center and off-site locations, and managing sample inventory and fulfillment responsibilities. This position will report to the Manager, Product Codes and Testing and is located in Arkadelphia, AR.

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Creation and shipment of product and system samples to be used for sales and marketing purposes, requiring a high level of detail to create a professional, finished end product

• Assemble, organize and ship materials for the purpose of product application demonstrations

• Ensure adequate sample inventory stocking levels are maintained

• Hands-on construction of Siplast systems, including, but not limited to, roofing decks, membranes, asphalt blends, insulating substrates, concrete mixes, and liquid

  waterproofing systems

• Maintenance and organization of all working areas, tools and equipment used in the performance of job duties

• Utilization of computer systems for managing inventory, completing company related documents, creating/responding to emails, requests, etc., and providing reports

• Physical Demands

  • Must have the ability to work in plant, warehouse and outdoor environments (including high/low temperatures, dust, humidity, etc.)

  • Manual dexterity to use tools, perform detailed work, product inspections, data entry, filing, and all position-related functions

  • Ability to climb ladders, work with heights and perform roofing/waterproofing applications

  • Visual acuity to inspect products, read documents and computer screens, operate a forklift safely, read test instruments, file, etc

  • Ability to frequently and quickly converse with and convey information to others on the phone and in person

  • Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform position functions

  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. (roofing products, etc.) on an occasional basis

  • Under This Roof, We Require

    • High School Diploma or GED

    • General construction experience including the safe use of hand and power tools

    • Ability to operate forklift and other construction equipment

    • Must have a valid driver's license
