Experience: 2 - 5 years

Skills:

• Ability to listen and take directions from Sheet Metal Crew Leader and Superintendent/Project Manager
• Physically able to lift 80 lbs. maneuver heavy equipment and bend, twist, stoop, push and grab. Ability to climb 40' ladders work with no height restrictions.
• Own/Buy roofing related tools needed to perform job duties.
• Willingness to learn measuring, cutting, installing metal on projects. Understanding processes of standing seam, coping, gutters, downspouts, drip edge and metal panel work
• Clean work site in a task driven manner. Clean equipment and check for any damage (report to Sheet Metal Crew Leader)
• Set up ladder and remove ladders each day (Ladder must extend 3' above landing and base should be 1' away from building for every 4' in eave height)
• Set up safety, load and off load roofing materials / equipment. (Safety lines set 6' from edge of perimeter)
• Cover roofing materials and the equipment from adverse weather conditions
• Provide assistance to the other crew members in measuring, cutting, setting panels, attachments of drip edge and coping, downspout, gutter installs and etc.
• Demonstrate and understand metal roofing system details.
• Identify materials and uses i.e. standing seam panels/dektite boots/coping/gutter/ downspouts/miters/eave metals and all metal accessories.
• Understand how metal projects begin and finish and reading metal diagrams.
• Must be a mentor and demonstrate positive reinforcement and train apprentices.
• Ability to use hand tools and equipment as required by GSM Services.

Requirements:

• Maintain a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Must be able to read tape measure.
• Following all GSM Services policies, OSHA, SMACNA, and manufacturer specifications and inspector's guidelines.
• Awareness of the job site safety program and hold co-workers accountable.
• Ability to read and write at High school level.
• Possess the ability to use basic math and problem-solving skills.
• Company standards met at all jobsites/office areas i.e. cleanliness, neat appearance, proper GSM clothing.
• Punctuality, attendance required or proper documentation giving reason.

• Follow all directions given by the Crew Leader.
• Must have basic knowledge of metal roofing related to production.
• Obtain a certificate with GSM Services as a forklift operator, Aerial Work Platforms (AWP) Certifications which include lifts, lulls, and other equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
