- Review project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements.
- Conduct accurate takeoffs and quantify materials, labor, and equipment required for sheet metal fabrication and installation.
- Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
- Analyze project costs, including labor, materials, overhead, and profit margins, to develop comprehensive and competitive project bids.
- Prepare detailed and timely bid proposals, ensuring all relevant information is included and aligned with project specifications.
- Work closely with the project management, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure seamless communication and understanding of project requirements.
- Present and defend estimates to internal stakeholders and external clients as needed.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor pricing to maintaining a competitive edge.
- Monitor actual project costs against estimated costs, identifying areas of improvement and lessons learned for future projects.
- Attend job walk-throughs as needed.
- High school diploma or GED
- 5 years of relevant shop/field fabrication and install experience or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Open cube office work environment, noise level – quiet to moderate
