Due to continued growth, we are actively seeking to fill Fire Alarm Technician positions in our Milwaukee, WI location. As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for managing daily service calls for a multitude of Fire Alarm systems, repairs, replacements and upgrades. Position will include new project installation and commissioning of the systems. May be asked to do Annual Inspections or support.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure customers are serviced at the highest level of satisfaction through quality courteous service, and by applying experience, knowledge and training.
  • Perform periodic inspections and testing of fire alarm systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair of fire alarm systems.
  • Troubleshoot false alarms, ground faults, and troubles.
  • Install fire alarm devices to include termination and programming.
  • Provide detailed feedback on deficiencies and necessary repairs.
  • Present a neat, professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Maintain high level of service and quality upon which our business has been built.
  • On-call rotation; occasional travel
  • Utilizes an online scheduling calendar to receive and understand the individual scheduled tasks, customer locations, and maintain other company documents as required (timesheets, safety audits, etc.)
  • Turn in required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Maintain equipment, supplies and company vehicle (if supplied) in good working order.
  • Study and learn NFPA standards for the inspection and testing of fire protection systems. Stay current with code requirements, industry changes, and obtain NICET certifications.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Good verbal / written communication & Customer service skills to clearly and concisely communicate with customers
  • Mechanical & Math Aptitude
  • Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend schematics
  • Demonstrated ability to use diagnostic tools such as multi-meters and programmers
  • Exceptional computer & Apple IOs skills
  • Professional and Organized
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience with Fire Sprinkler, Fire Extinguisher, or Special Hazards a plus

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License
  • NICET Fire Alarm Certification (NICET II preferred)
  • Minimum two years’ experience in the fire alarm / sprinkler industry, including installation, service and testing of commercial & industrial fire alarm systems

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Industrial, Commercial, & Residential building environment with moderate to high noise levels, and comfort with working at heights
  • Mostly a physical demanding role. Majority of the daily demand is standing and walking stairs and climbing ladders
  • Ability to be on the phone and computer consistently throughout the day
