Night shift, weekend shift or standard working hours shifts available.
Communications Operator Your Job Duties:
You will work in the Communications Operations / dispatching center for the California State Parks Rec (State Park System) where you will:
  • Monitor emergency communications systems
  • Answer calls for service from the public or other agencies and talk through the situation, obtain critical information and determine the level of dispatching needed
  • Communicate with Park law enforcement about the matter and dispatch field units on site
  • Log incidents
  • Provide consistency, direction and knowledge to the public and law enforcement
Communications Operator Required:
  • Prior experience in inbound call center (minimum 2 years) or dispatching (minimum 1 year)
  • Ability to maintain composure under stress to navigate emergency situations
  • Capture and type information
  • Work quickly and with urgency
  • Ability to pass a drug test and background check prior to hire
Communications Operator You Might Have:
  • Former Military Veteran with radio equipment experience or Air Traffic Controller experience (preference in the hiring process will be given to Veterans)
Upon hire, you will be assigned a mutually agreeable work schedule, which may include a weekend shift or night shift, at your choosing.
