Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin is Hiring a Radiologic Tech - Patient Care Services (PCS) Near Madison, WI

.5 FTE/Part-TimeThe Radiologic Technologist assigned to Patient Care Services (PCS) is responsible for applying ionizing radiation to demonstrate portions of the human body on a radiographic, fluoroscopic screen, or other imaging modality to assist the physician in the diagnosis of disease or injury. Additional responsibilities may include performing phlebotomies, laboratory clerical work and selected laboratory procedures; clerical administration and reception, and rooming of patients, as needed. The incumbent works under the general guidance, supervision and direction of the Clinic Manager. JOB SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS Graduation from an accredited Radiology technology program is required. Registered or registry eligible Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required. Valid Wisconsin Radiographer license is required. Possession of or eligibility for a valid Healthcare Provider CPR/AED certificate is required. Employee must obtain certification within four (4) months of employment. One (1) year of radiologic experience is preferred. Minimum of one (1) year experience with phlebotomy procedures preferred. Ability to travel to various work sites. Employee is expected to provide personal transportation. Possession of a valid, Wisconsin driver license if the employee is operating a motor vehicle. As assigned, float to other work sites/clinics to serve as backup and provide coverage during staff absences, position vacancies or when patient needs exceed staffing resources. Knowledge of current laboratory safety and hygiene protocols required. Knowledge and ability to accurately perform laboratory tests required. Maintenance of current continuing medical education credits is required. Knowledge of general anatomy is required. Knowledge of the physical and operational characteristics of radiographic equipment is required. Knowledge of the principles and practices utilized in radiographic examination, and knowledge of radiation exposure techniques is required. Ability to recognize normal and abnormal structures in order to tailor the exam to answer the clinical question is required. Knowledge of and ability to use/learn PACS archiving systems is required. Knowledge of and ability to adhere to OSHA standards and other patient care protocols is required. Knowledge of and/or ability to learn and use computer based applications such as MS Office, electronic medical record systems and scheduling applications is required. Knowledge of or ability to learn EPIC systems software modules. Good communication and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to be culturally sensitive and to work with a diverse patient population and excellent customer service skills are required. Knowledge of interviewing practices and techniques used in order to gather information is required. Ability to recognize, identify and report problems to appropriate personnel is required. Knowledge of medical records and appropriate documentation is required. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality required. Knowledge of HIPAA requirements. Ability to stand for up to 90% of a workday is required. Ability to lift from waist level and carry loads ranging from 15-50 lbs. is required. Ability to push and pull radiographic equipment is required. Ability to handle, finger, control left or right hand and reach (above shoulder, over 18" and to the floor) is required. Near and midrange vision is required.
