GRISWOLD INDUSTRIES Job Description Cleaner JOB DIMENSIONS: Job Summary: Under general supervision, dips and cleans a variety of valve bodies and parts to remove marks and debris; prepares materials for stock and assembly; and performs other related duties as assigned. Reports to: Assembly Manager. Examples of Duties and Responsibilities: Change lye water in hot tank; Change acid tank; Change rinse water; Dip parts in cleaning solutions, including sulfuric acid where required, and rinse; Dip parts in rust preventive mineral oil or solvents, as needed; Blow clean with air gun; Remove rust with wire brush using power or pneumatic tool, as needed; Prepare parts for assembly; Maintain clean and safe work areas; Adhere to quality standards and safe operating procedures; and Operate forklift truck. QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES: Any combination equivalent of, but not limited to, the following: Experience/Training/Education: Some experience handling chemicals and related hazardous substances or assembly work. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of proper handling chemicals; Able to work cooperatively and communicate with co-workers; Knowledge of safety procedures; Able to use various sized hand, power, and pneumatic tools; and Able to drive forklift truck. Physical Requirements: Able to bend, lift, move and carry materials weighing 25 pounds or less; ability to stand for extended periods of time; able to bend, lean, stretch and reach dipping tanks; Ability to perform essential functions of the job, as defined; and Reasonable accommodations provided upon request.
