Job Summary:
Griswold Home Care is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Aide/Direct Support Professional to join our team in North San Diego. This individual will provide specialized care to clients living with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and various neurocognative conditions. This is a part-time, hourly position in the home care industry. As an individual contributor, the Home Care Aide/Direct Support Professional will play a vital role in improving the quality of life for our clients and their families.
Compensation & Benefits:
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $22 per hour, paid weekly. In addition, eligible employees may also receive benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, and retirement savings plan.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and companionship services to clients with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and memory conditions in accordance with their care plan
- Assist with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding
- Medication reminders and assist with medical appointments as needed
- Create a safe and comfortable environment for clients, minimizing risks and preventing accidents
- Engage clients in mentally stimulating activities, exercises, and social interactions to promote cognitive function and physical wellness
- Document daily activities and changes in client's condition, reporting any concerns to the supervisor
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure quality care and meet the client's evolving needs
- Maintain a clean and organized home environment for clients, including light housekeeping tasks
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and standards of ethical conduct
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 year of experience in caregiving or home care, preferably working with clients with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, or memory conditions
- CNA or HHA certification preferred
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and memory care techniques and strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and follow care plans accurately
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
