Griffis Residential is Hiring a Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer Near Greenwood Village, CO

Overview

The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer will develop architecture and code that will provide invaluable information to the business in areas of operations, finance, and accounting, as well as any other business needs that tend to be more of a business intelligence nature.

The BI Developer role is multi-faceted with time spent understanding business processes and needs, developing optimized code for Power BI Dashboards and back-end SQL Server queries.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain the company’s internal portal, written in Svelte, with a backend based on C# Azure Functions
  • Create and maintain integrations between internal and external software.
  • Brainstorm ways to automate repetitive business processes.
  • Build ETL processes to integrate external data into our internal data warehouse.
  • Create analytical data models to feed our internal and external reporting and analysis
  • Manage company’s Azure resources.
  • Development of a data architecture that will allow for optimal use of Power BI as a data reporting tool.
  • Learn about the multi-family industry and realize where benefits may exist to use data for improving customer experience and showing investment value.
  • Evaluate current data and applications being used for reporting of operational data and determine whether it is the optimal path to continue with, or that a better one might exist.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with at least 5 years of experience in Data-focused platforms and sites is preferred. Strong preference given to those with significant experience with Power BI and Azure.
  • 3-5 years of experience with SQL code and use of SQL Server including T-SQL, SQL Server Jobs, query tuning, and security.
  • Extensive use of different API’s for data access
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to speak and understand multiple “languages” with the business
  • Willingness to stretch into other IT areas is a plus.

Customer Service Skills

  • Interview customers and provide clear understanding about what would be most beneficial based upon their requirements.
  • Willingness to help with other IT functions within the company as needed.
  • Consistent delivery in a timely fashion of deliverables and a lack of a fear of failure and growth from it.

Computer Skills

  • Languages: C#, TypeScript, SQL (MSSQL preferred)
  • Svelte (or experience in another front-end framework)
  • Azure Functions
  • Azure Data Factory
  • SQL Server
  • Analytical data modeling (star schema, dimensional modeling, and denormalization should all be familiar concepts)
  • General knowledge of Azure
  • Snowflake Data Cloud

Other

  • Outstanding communication and follow-through on short- and long-term tasks.
  • Willingness to contribute positively to the company culture and direction
  • Position estimation of need: 60-70% Data Integration, 20-30% Azure, 5-10% Power BI
