Position Summary

The Marketing Director is an essential part of the Planetree Management team, responsible for all marketing, communications, and event management efforts. The role requires focus not only on strategy, planning, and leadership, but also hands-on implementation, execution, and development of marketing and communication activities. The Director must combine brand marketing with product marketing to be successful in this role.

The Director is an active member of a passionate Corporate Services team that drives and supports the expansion of person-centered approaches to healthcare in organizations worldwide. Responsible for brand strategy, product marketing, digital marketing, comprehensive campaign development, and ongoing client engagement and nurture, a qualified Marketing Director must be a self-starter, with a successful track record of driving measurable results within a B2B and B2C environment across a global healthcare landscape.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading an effective marketing strategy to propel company growth, working cross-functionally with staff and corporate teams, along with vendors, contractors, agencies, media, and clients.

Responsibilities

Marketing & Communications

  • Lead the development and execution of an organization brand strategy, manage brand messaging, and develop and implement consistent brand communication across various channels and touchpoints
  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans inclusive of sales targets, key accounts, key growth markets and aligned to insights from Salesforce / Pardot. Plans should consider how Planetree engages to cultivate relationships and grow sales through B2B and B2C channels.
  • Identify and utilize third party data sources to uncover new client prospects that can be cultivated into new sales pipeline leads through direct marketing techniques
  • Assist Planetree Members and Certified sites to differentiate themselves in their local market by showcasing their unique person-centered care approach and incorporating Planetree into their brand identity
  • Analyze Planetree internal databases to develop actionable insights and sales opportunities
  • Manage and optimize SEM and SEO strategies and tactics
  • Partner with Planetree consultants to understand how unique differentiators are leveraged throughout the selling process
  • Lead and deliver monthly Partner Office marketing engagement sessions and implement global branding requirements across international stakeholders according to the brand strategy
  • Develop compelling sales presentations and tools that communicate value proposition
  • Collaborate and consult with marketing and public relations staff from Planetree’s parent company, Griffin Health Services to ensure alignment with marketing plan implementation
  • Manage and develop all collateral, including messaging, layout, and visual design
  • Develop and promote thought leadership / blog articles with subject matter experts to promote brand position
  • Execute market research plan, gather customer insights, and analyze market data. This includes monitoring industry
  • trends and identifying market opportunities. Research findings should inform product positioning and marketing strategy.
  • Develop and execute all marketing collateral, digital content, sales tools, and advertising campaigns to effectively reach
  • target audiences and support sales efforts.
  • Manage all content on Planetree website including WebFlow maintenance and other integrations
  • Manage all Planetree social channels, including content development and scheduling
  • Manage all Planetree email campaigns, including newsletters, new product introductions, and ongoing nurture campaigns

Event Management

  • Manage and collaborate with other team members to deliver the Planetree Annual Conference and smaller regional events to support business development. Act as the lead point of contact for the Planetree Annual Conference
  • Manage and execute logistics of conference activities, with an expected attendee count of 500
  • Manage marketing materials to promote in person and online events
  • Manage event materials, including name badges, signage, and event programs
  • Guide the management of all vendors and sponsors supporting the conference and other events
  • Conduct ongoing planning calls with Planetree staff, vendors, and key stakeholders

Public Relations

  • Develop and execute upon communication plans and communications to meet strategic goals and match targets in the comprehensive marketing plan
  • Support other team members to manage the implementation of communications strategies and plans
  • Manage publication list and support relationships with editors of key local and national publications
  • Write and prepare media materials, and media kits, including releases, fact sheets, background materials, and case studies
  • Support the development of speeches and presentations for public speaking engagements
  • Manage tracking analysis and reporting on the effectiveness of communication activities and media relations results /reports against pre-established objectives

Teamwork & Culture

  • Contribute to annual team operational plan aligned to Planetree’s strategic plan and roadmap
  • Work internally as a collaborative team member to meet the goals of Planetree
  • Contribute to Planetree’s organizational learning by bringing field experiences to drive innovation
  • Complete mandatory training as required
  • Live and uphold the Planetree Mission, Vision, and Values

Critical Skills

  • Engage and consult Griffin Health Marketing & Communications team as required on marketing initiatives
  • Manage multiple stakeholder inputs and consult widely as required with Planetree team members and strategic partners

  • Comfortable engaging in professional communication with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and cultures
  • Flexible and able to adapt appropriately to various situations and conditions
  • Advanced communication skills including written, verbal, and non-verbal

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, business, journalism or another related field required. (MBA preferred).
  • Proven track record of at least 10 years of marketing experience, showcasing experience of at least 5 years in B2B, B2C, and healthcare related marketing.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and launching successful digital campaigns
  • Experience developing cost-effective social and digital marketing strategies
  • Experience launching products within the healthcare sector
  • Ability to monitor industry and internal trends and create / coordinate stimulating content
  • History of effectively managing multiple competing responsibilities with the ability to prioritize and drive critical business objectives
  • Record of increasing responsibility within marketing
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to think strategically and solve problems
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience in employing multiple routes to feed the pipeline through content and email, social media
  • Graphic design skills and experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive) and 365 products
  • Proficient with Video Conferencing platforms
  • Proficient with presentation technology requirements
  • Proficient with Pardot, Salesforce, Canva, and HootSuite
  • Experience using Webflow website management
  • Advanced Skills with Video Conferencing Platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx, and/or GoToMeeting preferred
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign or related tools preferred
  • Proficient with Expensify preferred
