This position reports to the Chief Customer Officer, has a dotted line relationship with GridX’s Product organization, and is responsible for the rate design practice. Related activities include regular interactions with our clients, prospects, and potential partners to both learn more about their needs as well as evangelize for GridX’s Enterprise Rate Platform generally, and our Design and Analyze products, specifically. In this role, you will:

  • Meet with utility clients and prospects to learn more about their needs, challenges, and opportunities; persuade such clients and prospects to consider the GridX Enterprise Rate Platform and our applications, including Design and Analyze, as a means to meet their challenges.
  • Support the Senior Director of Regulatory & Policy Business Development by providing insights on key regulatory, policy and legislative activities being tracked.
  • In collaboration with the Senior Director of Regulatory & Policy Business Development engage, educate, and persuade stakeholders in the regulatory and legislative process.
  • Provide thought leadership both within the company, including helping the sales & marketing better understand the utility rate design processes and related problems to be resolved and senior leadership, and externally via trade shows, conferences, webinars, blog posts and marketing campaigns.
  • Leverage your experience as a utility employee to aid the Marketing team in developing business cases, initially for the Design and Analyze products, but ultimately for the rest of the GridX suite of products.
  • Occasionally travel to trade shows, conferences, client & prospect offices, headquarters, and elsewhere, up to 20% of the time.

More about you:

  • Have a strong interest in combating climate change, decarbonization, electrification and/or the growth of distributed and renewable energy resources as a means to replace fossil-fuel based resources.
  • Enjoy collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders, including an interest in how to solve today’s problems as well as looming challenges.
  • Comfortable with extensive stretches of time where your work is self-directed.
  • Understand, appreciate, and can help develop process and structure while also not showing any diminution of skills during periods of rapidly adjusting priorities.
  • Can thrill others in your family and network about the intricacies of cost-of-service studies, the nuances of cost causality, the relative merits of a three-part tariff, and optimal on-peak to off-peak pricing ratios.
  • Get excited at the idea of contributing to the success of others on the team.
