We are looking for a Mold maintenance technician with a minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in the assembly and disassemble of multi-cavity hot runner molds. Duties include: Mold care and cleaning, minor mold repair, mold component change over, mold maintenance and spare part replacement, mold condition analysis and preventative action recommendation, training of other mold maintenance technicians, mold and mold parts inventory control and storage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all mold and mold ancillary systems in good working order
• Maintain control and storage of all molds and mold components
• Perform mold core/cavity changeovers
• Perform minor repairs using tool room equipment
• Requisition mold spare parts and maintain spare parts inventory.
• Requisition major mold repairs and maintenance for offsite work.
• Prepare molds for production as per schedule.
• Provide input to Production and QC manager regarding mold status report.
• Maintain tool room equipment and tool room housekeeping.
• Operate overhead crane safely to handle mold transport
• Operate tool room hoists safely for mold assemble and disassembly

Skills and Qualifications

• High school graduate or higher
• Must have completed basic mold making course training or on the Job mold maintenance training.
• Good knowledge of plastic injection mold design.
• Working knowledge of mold systems including
• Hot runner, and HR controller
• Cooling design and function,
• Hydraulic design and function
• Pneumatic design and function
• Ancillary equipment controls and sensors
• Good Knowledge of machine tool operation including
• Lathe work
• Mill work
• Surface grinder operation
• Basic welding
• Other basic machine tools
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills
• Computer skills, MS office
• Strong work ethic.
• Good interpersonal skills.
