Overview

:We are looking for a fast pace, experienced, and Hard Working criminal defense attorney with at least 5 years of experience.

Description

:Our firm is currently seeking an experienced criminal defense lawyer to manage the growing case load. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in criminal law, whether as a prosecutor or defense lawyer.

We are looking for a self-motivated candidate with excellent litigation skills who can quickly adjust to multiple priorities and short time frames as necessitated by client and court deadlines and work well in a self-directed environment. Exceptional communication skills are a must because you will be handling every aspect of the case from initial consultation through trial. You will always have guidance from the managing partner where needed.

Objectives of this Role:

  • Advise, advocate for, or represent the client's interests or issues
  • Maintain a regular schedule of consultations, hearings, court appearances
  • Be able to delegate tasks to paralegal support

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Discuss with clients about discovery, plea negotiations, pretrial litigation and trial preparation
  • Perform research on legal matters related to specific matters
  • Make frequent court appearances
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a diverse range of agreements, and file comprehensive complaints and responses
  • Work closely with our team to prepare comprehensive briefs and motions on each case that goes to trial; prepare persuasive motions
  • Practice predominantly in Fulton, Dekalb, Gwinnett and Clayton

Skills and Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association
  • State bar certification in Georgia required
  • Extremely detail oriented with ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Jury trial experience, preferred
