Responsibilities
•Work new construction, maintenance, and repair of de-energized underground distribution systems based off receiving and following directions
•Proficient operation of heavy equipment - Dump truck, backhoe, trenchers, and mini-excavators
•Understand minimum approach distance, soil classifications, excavation, shoring and ladder requirements
•Understand heavy equipment set up, procedures, underground services, and duct banks
•Performs excavations of dirt, rock, concrete, and other materials using hand tools and power equipment

Qualifications
Qualifications and Requirements:
To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
•Ability to read and understand blueprints, work orders, instructions, and procedures
•Accurately perform basic math calculations to include addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals, multiplication, division, and the use of measurements
•Proficiency in critical thinking, trouble shooting, and problem resolution
•Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal and nonverbal)
•Requires self-motivation, organization, and prioritization management
•Proficient knowledge of OSHA standards and guidelines
•High School Diploma or equivalent
•Technical degree, 2-4 years' field experience, extensive mechanical ability, or a combination of education and/or experience
•CDL A (preferred) or the ability to obtain
•OSHA Certifications

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb; lifts and carry up to 60 lbs, crawl, kneel, push and reach; use hands to fingers, handle, and feel.
Work Environment:
In performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
