Responsibilities

Your Responsibilities with GVS:

• Activity Planning and Implementation: Assist with researching, planning, and executing activities for the independent living community. Directs volunteer activities, enlists their support and coordinates their efforts; provides training and supervision of volunteers. Activities encompass the Eight Dimensions of Wellness which Include but not limited to physical/wellness activities, special events, religious activities, field trips, emotional and cognitive activities, etc.
• Inter-Departmental Collaboration: Works collaboratively with internal GVS departments to ensure activities have the support needed to run smoothly. This includes catering requests, room set-up, transportation, equipment set up, etc.
• Resident Relationship Building: Builds relationships with residents and encourages participation in independent living activities. Participates in new resident meetings to understand their needs and requests from the community.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• One year experience in a recreational program in a licensed health care setting preferred.
