GREENVILLE RANCHERIA is Hiring a Caregiver I/II Near Red Bluff, CA

POSITION SUMMARY: Greenville Rancheria is seeking a full-time Caregiver II at our childcare center, Kotasik Daycare. Kotasik Daycare and the Greenville Rancheria is looking for an energetic professional with excellent time management skills to join our daycare team as the Caregiver. II. This person will have a proven track record of early childhood care and teaching experience. This position will oversee the care, implementing the approved curriculum, schedules and safety of up to 20 children (one class) of 3-year•olds or 4-year-old children. Under the direct supervision of the Daycare Director, the Child Caregiver II will also adhere to state standards while creating a fun, safe and enriching environment for the children of the Kotasik Estom Daycare & Learning Center.

POSITION OUTLINE:

1. Physical requirements: An eligible candidate must possess the ability:

a. Caregiver II is regularly required to sit, use hands to fingers, handle or feel object, use tools, or controls.

b. Caregiver II is regularly required to sit, stand, use hands and fingers to feel.

c. objects, use tools, or controls.

d. Ability to reach and stretch using arms, stand for long hours. Caregiver II must be able to speak and be able to see children and hear children voices and/or with assistance or corrective devices. (Glasses, hearing devices, etc.)

e. The Caregiver II will occasionally be required to walk, climb a short step stool, balance, kneel or crouch in the course of the Caregiver II's daily routine.

f. The Caregiver II must be able to push/pull up to 75 pounds horizontally.

g. The Caregiver II must be able to bend, lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.

h. Ability to perform basic math.

i. Ability to organize documents accurately and to write using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

j. Ability to effectively communicate with community members and groups, parents, families both individually and in group settings.

k. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

2. General Duties and Responsibilities: Under direct supervision of the Daycare

Director:

a. Monitor children's safety.

b. Develop weekly schedules and curriculum to include activities and breaks.

c. Report physical or developmental issues that may require further attention.

d. Keep records, of children's progress, and daily tasks (eating, snacks, potty, social activities, etc.)

e. Use state education standards to guide curriculum planning.

f. Update parents via telephone and/or email as necessary for the children's wellness

g. Coordinate with parents to maintain current contact information

3. General Qualifications

a. High school diploma required.

b. Twelve (12) units of Early Childhood Education including core classes in Human/Child Development (3 units); Family, Child and Community (3 units); and Program /Curriculum (3 units)

c. A.A. degree in Early Childhood Education or related degree preferred.

d. One (1) year experience in related work.

e. Must have or obtain a Child Development Matrix Permit A the Associate Teacher level or higher within one year of hire date.

f. Must maintain Child Development permit until desired education obtained.

g. Must have arid maintain current EMSA Fist Aid/CPR credentials.

h. Proven record of effective communication and ethical professional decision making

i. Must have a valid California driver's license and satisfactory and clean driving record.

j. Criminal background check required.

k. Pre employment drug test required.

DIRECT RESPONSIBILITIES: The following position responsibilities are rated as part of the employee’s competency-based performance appraisal. Within the parameters established by the Tribal Council, approved Greenville Rancheria Personnel Policies and Procedures.

a. Ensure health requirements are met according to Tribal daycare standards.

b. Perform rec3rdkeeping, scheduled reports, and mandated reporting in a timely accurate and confidential manner.

c. Ensure regular communication with families regarding children's progress, activities, to provide needed information regarding children's daycare visits.

d. Plan, coordinate and conduct socializations and activities for children according to the family reeds.

e. Attend meetings and trainings as directed by Daycare Director.

f. Ongoing professional development through education, role modeling, mentoring, and training.

g. Assist staff to meet licensing requirements, with the center.

h. Receive, assist, and keep current COVID pandemic safety, cleaning, health standards in use at the daycare center, including temperature checks, sanitizing controls, and emergency evacuation procedures.

i. Basic complier skills, including knowledge of WORD, Power point, spreadsheet software, etc.

j. Child Caregiver II must be culturally sensitive, conveys empathy for tribal families and individuals.

k. Applicant will have first aid training; the successful applicant must have knowledge of safety regulations regarding children and current on first aid protocol for the age ranges at the facility.

l. Bilingual abilities are not required but are a plus, knowledge of the Maidu and/or Wintu native languages is a benefit. Willingness to utilize native words and stories into the curriculum is highly preferred.

m. Must be able to be certified/licensed as a caregiver of a childcare center per the state of California and Tehama County.

n. Assist in any project or functions that may be assigned the Day Care Director.

o. Must engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development.

p. Appropriately supervise children while always keeping them safe.

q. Assist children with activities of daily life (e.g., diapering/restroom use, feeding, dressing)

r. Approach patents daily and speak with them about their child(ren)

s. Ensure the safety and well-being of each child by responding to their emotional, social, and physical needs as well as their educational needs.

t. Always utilize developmentally appropriate practice and best practice methods.

u. Be warm and nurturing with children.

v. Be a positive role model for all care giving staff and children.

w. Be customer service orientated and professional.

x. Provide excellent customer service according to the standards of the Kotasik Estom Daycare and Learning Center

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
