Who We Are

GreenSweep LLC is a local landscape firm offering services in design, installation, and maintenance. We provide quality landscape, hardscape, and grounds maintenance services for both commercial and residential properties in the DC/MD/VA area.

Position Overview

The Production Manager is responsible to lead the quality, safety, and efficiency of our frontline crews. The Production Manager will create beautiful landscapes while managing the teams that serve our clients. The Production Manager will support the Client Relationship Manager in estimating/production rates, material purchasing, vendor management and other needed items to successfully complete all field operations. This position reports to the Client Relationship Manager for a specific book of business.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Production Manager is expected to perform at a minimum the following job duties and responsibilities.

Performance & Quality:

  • Coordinate materials, people, equipment, and subcontractors to ensure job site quality meets GreenSweep standards.
  • Conduct pre-job meetings with Crew Leaders prior to scheduled service to develop an appropriate action plan (site maps, photos, etc.), and perform hands-on work as needed to assist crews.
  • Conduct routine site audits at job sites and document within Aspire.
  • Prior to completion of each day, submit pictures/measurements/notes to Client Relationship Manager on issues and enhancement opportunities and meet to review notes and assist with description for upsell opportunities.

Operations:

  • Ensure the proper maintenance, storage, and use of branch equipment. This includes assisting the Fleet & Facilities Manager with monthly equipment inventory and inspections.
  • Order and purchase materials as needed (plants/mulch/parts/equipment) and monitor costs and coordinate delivery/pick-up.
  • Lead AM Rollout and AM Circle Checks for designated crews. Help load trucks in PM to ensure following AM Rollout moves efficiently.

Personnel:

  • Approve and edit all time entry for field crews each morning by 9:00 am for the preceding day.
  • Function as the direct POC for field crews.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed by Crew Leaders and Crew Members.
  • Provide field crew training, including proper equipment operation, pruning techniques, safety, and quality standards.
  • Promote company culture and core values stressing the importance of safety, efficiency, quality, and professionalism.
  • Work with the management team to identify staffing needs.

Physical Demands

  • Employee will work in both an office and field environment; travel from site to site in various weather conditions; including rain, snow, sun, extreme heat, or cold.
  • Employee could be required to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods; operate motorized vehicles
  • Expected hours during the landscape season requiring flexibility to work between 5:30 am and 5:30 pm
  • Potential work hours during the snow season include nighttime, weekends, and holidays to participate in snow removal activities.
  • Safely perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of various landscape equipment and materials
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Push, pull, grip, and squeeze various tools and products
  • Walk up to 10 miles a day, sometimes up hill and on uneven terrain, often while carrying, pushing, or pulling equipment
  • Spray various pesticides/herbicides

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the landscaping industry or local marketplace
  • A minimum of 1 year of prior experience in a supervisory role
  • A 2-year degree or more in a landscape related field or certification by a landscape association
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to be insured by company insurance carrier
  • Valid pesticide applicator’s license or ability to obtain within one year of employment
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
  • Knowledge of landscape materials, installation and maintenance techniques, and equipment operation.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, field crews, and management team
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred

Specific Tasks

· AM Rollout: Ensure timely rollout of designated crews. Take attendance. Ensure AM Circle Checks are completed. Relay job notes/pictures to Crew Leaders. Help load plants/equipment/materials.

· PM Loading: Ensure PM Load List is complete and loaded before closing shop.

· Time Entry: Complete & approve all time entry for designated crews.

· Job Set-Up: Meet crews onsite to go over site maps/scope of work for new clients and projects.

· Site Audits: Complete site audits and relay enhancement opportunities back to Account Manager.

· Procurement & Logistics: Pick up miscellaneous materials, parts, etc. during the day to ensure PM Load List is complete. Pick up parts for Fleet & Facilities Manager to streamline equipment repairs.

· Field Work: “Manager Specials” – complete small enhancement work or go-back work to drive better efficiency for crews/jobs.

· Emergency: Help crews on sites (broken down trucks, mowers, etc.).

· Training: Train ALL new Crew Members on their first day at the shop on proper equipment usage, storage, shop etiquette, and company policies.

· Miscellaneous: Assist management and ownership on any “as needed” tasks (shop management/fleet management/office admin).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
