Purpose: To deliver products to and from our flagship location and satellite stores using a GreenStar vehicle safely and in compliance with all traffic laws. This includes but is not limited to cash deposits from our satellite stores to our cash office, prepared food items, transference of administrative paperwork, and other errands as assigned. etc. To create a hospitable environment that welcomes coworkers, customers, owners, and members of the community.

Status: Level III, Supervised by Prepared Foods Manager

Responsibilities:

PLANNING

• Communicate with retail point person(s)/receivers for deliveries to and from our flagship location. This is to ensure that the needs of each department are fulfilled.
• Communicate regularly with Prepared Foods Manager and/or Assistant Manager to coordinate receiving and storage needs.
• Help maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
• Recommend system improvements/efficiencies to the Grocery Manager and/or Receiving & Logistics Assistant Manager.

DELIVERIES

• Collect all necessary items for deliveries. Minimally 2 deliveries per day (morning & afternoon runs).
• Deliver items from the flagship location to the satellite locations. Collect items from the satellite locations for delivery back to the flagship location.
• Ensure deposits from DeWitt and Collegetown are delivered to the Cash Office following appropriate procedures determined by our Front-End department.
• Route all interdepartmental envelopes to the correct department.
• Help with receiving at all locations as needed.
• Operate forklift machinery as needed for receiving deliveries.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

• Assist customers with product questions in a prompt, and courteous manner, referring them to other staff when necessary.
• Work as part of a team to develop a hospitable department space that feels welcoming to all.
• Participate in trainings, all-staff meetings, department meetings, and OBM Huddles to stay informed.
• Knowledgeable about GreenStar’s Products.

DEPARTMENT MAINTENANCE

• See that unsaleable items are properly disposed of. Keep accurate shrinkage records.
• Remove trash promptly; sweep floor as needed.
• Ensure maintenance of department equipment/vehicles and notify manager if equipment breaks or is in need of repair.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safe operation of vehicles, to include a daily inspection of vehicles (brakes, lights, horn, etc.).
• Maintain a safe driving record. Report any traffic violations to the Human Resources Department.
• Follow GreenStar’s safety rules.
• Assist other employees in safety needs.
• Report unsafe equipment and conditions immediately.
• Participate in safety training programs.
• Perform other tasks as assigned to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

• NYS Driver’s License and safe driving record.

• Ability to lift 50 pounds continuously and 75 pounds occasionally.
