Greenland Property Management is a dynamic commercial property development and management firm redefining community development through its expansive retail and class-A office spaces.

As the Controller at Greenland, you will be essential in keeping the company’s financial health in its best shape. By utilizing your solid communication, technology, analytical and accounting skills, you will ensure accuracy and effectiveness and be responsible for overseeing the accounting team and tasks for multiple properties and entities.

Due to the nature of a small business, you will work intimately and flexibly with a small team to complete tasks as well as report directly to ownership as needed. As we are a commercial property firm, we are seeking Controllers with experience in the property management field, MRI software knowledge, and portfolio management.

Responsibilities

• Generate and present financial reports for diverse projects.
• Regularly update management on the financial status of the projects.
• Develop and manage budgets while providing insightful forecasts to drive project success.
• Collaborate with teams to enhance efficiency of accounting and financial processes.
• Stay informed and ensure adherence to accounting regulations and audit requirements.
• Proactively manage tax requirements to meet deadlines for multiple projects.
• Identify and capitalize on financing opportunities and contribute to the company’s growth.

Skills

• Minimum of 10 years experience as Controller in the commercial property industry
• Masterful knowledge of accounting procedures, financial accounting principles and statements, and GAAP
• Experience in managing payroll and financial project management
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Familiarity with accounting software packages, like MRI and ADP, or a strong tech-savvy background
• Advanced MS Excel skills with knowledge of MS softwares and Google Suite
• BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
• Master’s degree in relevant field preferred
• CPA preferred
