Greenfield-Central Cmty School District is Hiring a Dance Instructor - Blue Fusion Near Greenfield, IN

Dance Instructor will teach the Blue Fusion Dance Team class, every other day based on the master schedule.
Time is 1:54-3:25 p.m.
Instruction will include work on team performances, strength and conditioning and jazz technique.
Some written work/final testing materials required. 
Class Instructor will work closely with the Dance Team Sponsor. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Has a thorough knowledge of all the Extra curricular policies approved by the School Board and is responsible for supporting the dance coach in their implementation.

  • Has knowledge of existing system, state and league regulations; implements the same consistently and interprets them for staff. 

  • Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all requests or grievances through proper channels. Is aware of all public/staff/departmental meetings that require attendance. 

  • Supports the coach’s established fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques to be taught by staff. 

  • Assist coach with designing conferences, clinics and staff meetings to insure staff awareness of the overall program. 

  • Assist coach in training and informing staff, encouraging professional growth by supporting clinic attendance according to local clinic policy. 

  • Assist the coach with maintaining discipline, adjusting grievances and working to increase morale and cooperation. 

  • Serves as a mentor to each athlete to promote the development and demonstration in students of the character traits of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. 

  • Gives constant attention to a student grades and conduct. 

  • By his/her presence at all practices games and while traveling, provides assistance, guidance and safeguards for each participant. 

  • Provides training rules and any other unique regulations of the program to each student who is considered a participant. 

  • Supports coach in initiating programs and policies concerning injuries, medical attention and emergencies. 

  • Permits the students to only be in authorized areas of the building at the appropriate times. 

  • Examines locker rooms before and after practices and games, checking on general cleanliness of the facility. Responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of specific equipment. 

  • Secure all doors, lights, windows and locks before leaving the building if custodians are not on duty. 

  • Instills in each student a respect for equipment and school property, its care and proper use. 

  • Assist coach with organizing parents, coaches, players and guests for preseason meetings. 

  • Promotes the program within the school through recruiting studentswho are not in another program and promotes the program outside the school through news media, little league programs, or in any other feasible manner. 

  • The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation.

  • Completes other duties as assigned by the coach.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of athletics, athletic programs, and physical fitness.

  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations regarding school district athletic programs, safety and health, and other areas under responsibility.

  • Ability to evaluate, develop and implement programs, activities and events, and make effective recommendations related to those areas.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to organize multiple tasks and conflicting time constraints.

  • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to leadership, performance and professional growth.

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 years’ experience as a coach, preferred

  • Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time. 

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. 

  • Ability to carry 50 lbs.

  • Ability to work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations. 

  • Ability to see for the purpose of reading laws and codes, rules and policies and other printed matter. 

  • Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels. 

  • Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation. 

  • Ability to operate office equipment. 

  • Ability to reach in all directions.
