Greenbrook Manor Care and Rehabilitation LLC is Hiring an Infection Preventionist (RN/LPN) Near Green, NJ

The Infection Preventionist (IP)RN/LPN is responsible for dissemination of infection prevention information, including surveillance data and policy decisions, as well as development, direction, management, implementation and operation of the infection prevention in the long term care facility. The IP utilizes evidence-based practices such as those published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Infection Preventionist will work to identify, investigate, monitor, and report healthcare-associated infections and communicable diseases. The IP collaborates with teams and individuals to create, educate, and sustain infection prevention strategies, as well as provide feedback. Infection Preventionist conducts ongoing staff development, training and quality assurance performance improvement monitoring to insure adherence with the organizational standards, professional guidelines, state, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities:

- prevent healthcare-associated infections by ensuring that sources of infections are isolated to limit the spread of infectious organisms.

- collect, analyze, and interpret health data in order to plan, implement, evaluate, and disseminate appropriate public health practices.

- conduct educational and training activities for healthcare workers through instruction and dissemination of information on healthcare practices.

- conduct rounds, discuss and monitor infection prevention practices with staff members

- collect infection data from departments

- maintain records for each case of healthcare- associated infection

- conduct outbreak investigation

- train staff members on implementation of infection prevention practices

- investigate incidents of infections and report such incidents to the appropriate person/department

- ensure availability of supplies required for infection prevention activities.

Education and Qualification

- Must have Registered Nurse license / Licensed Practical Nurse in New Jersey

- Must have Certification in Infection Prevention and Control

- At least 2-3 years’ experience in IP at a LTC facility
