Description

Green Street is seeking a highly motivated candidate with relevant work experience to join its Data Operations Team. The Director, Data Acquisition and Partnerships is responsible for developing and maintaining senior-level relationships with key strategic data partners, as well as overseeing the framework for managing the firm’s critical third-party data and content relationships.

The Director, Data Acquisition and Partnerships will play a leading role in the firm’s strategic expansion efforts. They will oversee related third-party data agreements with national and international partners, cultivate and maintaining contacts with senior-level executives at the firm’s critical data partners, and own a growth framework that aligns all organic and inorganic initiatives in the Data Operations org, to maximize efficiency.

Collaborating with stakeholders from across the business, the Director, Data Acquisition and Partnership will lead diligence efforts related to data partnerships, draft RFPs where applicable, coordinate and/or negotiate terms for data licensing, oversee vendor risk management and introduce related policies and controls as needed to ensure compliance with existing agreements. They will provide ongoing input and direction in evaluating new partnerships/alliances, mergers, spin-offs and joint ventures. Additionally, this role will assist senior leaders in Data Operations with post-merger integration activities, annual planning and internal communications. They will participate in new product development and Go-To-Market initiatives and liaise with partners across functions (e.g., Product, Commercial, Finance, etc.) to maximize the business impact of Data Operations.

Responsibilities  

  • Developing relationships with decision-makers at the firm’s critical data partners, with an eye toward mutually beneficial long-term alliances. Responsibility for the health and growth of key assigned relationships.
  • Negotiating long-term data licensing agreements with an eye toward flexibility and cost avoidance.
  • Developing and implementing a strategy for managing complex third-party data and other content licensing agreements, including the diligence and vendor selection process, negotiation of terms and ongoing risk management review. Introducing internal controls and reporting to govern compliance with existing agreements.
  • Providing leadership to a team of US & international data acquisition specialists responsible for securing region-specific data.
  • Delivery of targeted data acquisition goals within defined cost thresholds.
  • Well-rounded understanding of the commercial real estate industry and key Green Street product use cases.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage complex, long-term third-party data acquisition agreements, with both US and international partners. 
  • 7 years of developing strategic partnerships and other third-party agreements at a well-regarded business-to-business financial intelligence provider, including significant experience in overseeing a vendor/partner management function.
  • Relevant graduate degree from top-tier institution or similar academic / professional experience.
  • High-level project management skills, with proven ability to lead complex initiatives involving multiple functional groups.
  • Proven track record of interacting with senior leadership teams to influence strategy and decision-making.
  • Significant (3 years) in the commercial real estate industry strongly preferred.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and
    analytical rigor.
  • Excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities; ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior managers and external business partners.
  • Strong leadership skills with a team-oriented and collaborative approach to work.
  • Authorization to work in the United States now and in the future, without visa or sponsorship requirements

Working Conditions: The Director, Data Acquisition and Partnerships will work indoors in an air-conditioned office building and must be able to remain stationary at a desk and computer for a majority of the day. 

Travel Percentage: 25-50%. Significant travel required to cultivate relationships with business partners
