Greater Kansas City Community Foundation is Hiring a Family College Prep Program Director Near KANSAS CITY, MO

Description

The Greater Kansas City Hispanic Development Fund’s (HDF) mission is to improve the quality of life of Latino families in Greater Kansas City by engaging the Latino community in philanthropy to build stronger communities through grantmaking, scholarship support, and college advising. HDF is an affiliate fund of the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation (GKCCF).

Job Summary

The HDF Family College Prep Program Director will be responsible for leading and managing the HDF Family College Prep Program (FCPP) in its pursuit of increasing the number of Kansas City Latino and first-generation college students who enroll in, persist, and graduate from college in as timely and cost- effective manner as possible. The FCPP Director will annually track FCPP participant data and review the program and process to increase programmatic impact. The Director will create new and build upon existing student support strategies and services and collaboratively work with the team to successfully execute them. 

Essential Functions

  • Manage and oversee the HDF Family College Prep Program and personnel to achieve our annual programmatic goals. 
  • Establish and manage high school, college/university, and community partnerships for the HDF Family College Prep Program.
  • Annually track and report on FCPP outputs, outcomes, and immediate college enrollment rates utilizing National Student Clearinghouse data. 
  • Create FCPP training manual, training program, establish policies and best practices for FCPP advisors to implement in their work, and annually update HDF’s community advising resources. 
  • Establish the FCPP community advising model and collaborate with the FCPP Community Advisor in delivering community advising events and services. 
  • Provide direct support to the FCPP advising team throughout the year, including managing college campus visits, leading team meetings, performing regular site visits, and supporting FCPP events. 
  • Remain current on college admissions, financial aid, and scholarship updates and ensure the FCPP advising team receives timely and essential professional development. 
  • Manage the HDF Family College Prep Program budget.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree and preferred candidates will have a master’s degree, 5-7 years’ experience in college advising, nonprofit education, or higher education, and demonstrated measurable impact in the field.
  • Preferred candidates will have management experience and possess strong interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Possess a passion, strong commitment, and credibility to the Latino community and demonstrate proficiency in bilingual communication skills (English and Spanish).
  • Detailed oriented and proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to operate in a highly collaborative environment, while working independently and being self-motivated. 
  • Ability to drive, navigate maps/GPS instructions, and possess reliable transportation with a clean driving record and valid driver’s license.

  • Regularly complete tasks at a computer terminal.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. 
  • Work within an office that has a moderate noise level.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. to organize office equipment. 
  • Communicate and interpret detailed information.
