The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) provides transportation services for 150,000-200,000 customers on atypical weekday, or about 45 million rides annually, through a variety of services, including HealthLine, bus, Paratransit, light rail, heavy rail, and vanpools. We are looking for an experienced Project Manager - Mechanical Engineering.

Position provides project management direction and compliance for overall customer care of internal and external clients for small to large projects. Projects will be focused in the areas of Mechanical Systems such as HVAC, Boilers, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Fixed Machinery and their integration into associated building systems and components. Position creates business cases for project funding approval and monitoring project financials to ensure project conforms to budget and schedule. Develops and maintains an integrated project planning and execution approach, status reporting and issue resolution. Ensures alignment of efforts and deliverables across internal team, consultants and contractors. Develops project plans, estimates and specifications conforming to all applicable building codes and standards, local, state and Federal regulations. Coordinates project delivery with internal staff from Engineering and Operating Divisions. Resolves project impacts through clarification, Request for Information and Change Order processes. Serves as the single point of contact for projects both facility- and Authority-wide.

Applicants must have a minimum of five (5) years prior project management experience leading a variety of small to large scale mechanical system/components and related building projects. Applicants must be experienced in at least one of the following mechanical areas - HVAC, Boilers, Plumbing, Fire Protection and system controls. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in an Engineering Science, preferably Mechanical. Project Management certification (PMP) is a plus. Applicant must have exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, and strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills. Applicants must have the ability to communicate complex technical concepts. Applicant must be self-managed, highly motivated, and highly skilled in managing teams. Applicants must have a strong working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and project management software such as MS Project, Primavera, or related programs. Applicants must have a proven track record of successful execution and delivery of mechanical projects.
