The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority is looking for an experienced and talented Engineering Project Manager - Rail Signals.
Detailed DescriptionPosition requires someone specializing in rail transit signal systems to both manage larger and self-perform design for smaller signal projects. Projects will be focused in the area of Railroad Signal Systems with emphasis on a 600 VDC rail traction power signal system. The candidate must have experience with circuit design, circuit check, relay logic and vital processor design. Must also have experience in performing field and factory testing. Also required is knowledge of FRA and/or FTA and/or APTA rules and/or AREMA standards. Experience with older GRS and US&S cab signal systems is a plus. Experience with highway-railroad grade crossings is also a plus. Knowledge of roadway traffic signal systems and the MUTCD is also a plus. Work will include the integration of railroad signal systems into large, complex projects such as rail stations, rail line signal improvement projects and fiber optic network upgrades and expansion.
Position creates supporting estimates and information for project funding approval. Ensures projects conform to budget and schedule. Develops and maintains an integrated project planning and execution approach, reporting to internal and external stakeholders. Maintains project schedule through the use of Microsoft Project and Primavera. Ensures alignment of efforts and deliverables across internal team, consultants and contractors. Develops project plans, estimates and specifications conforming to all applicable rules and standards. Coordinates project development with internal staff from Engineering, Rail Operations and Safety. Resolves project impacts through Request for Information and Change Order processes.
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Applicants must have a minimum of five (5) years prior project management experience leading a variety of small to large scale rail signal system/components including signal design, construction and testing projects. Applicants must have an Engineering Science Bachelors degree preferably in Electrical Engineering. Applicant must have: exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, and strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills. Applicants must have the ability to communicate technical concepts. Applicant must be self managed, highly motivated, and skilled in managing teams. Applicants must be experienced with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), FRA/FTA/APTA/AREMA rules and standards and project management software such as MS Project, Primavera, or related programs. Professional Engineer registration required.
