The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA), located in Cleveland, Ohio, is looking for an experienced and talented individual for a challenging role in the Procurement Department of the Finance and Administration Division. Detailed Description

Duties

Procures items and services for the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority, activates and monitors releases against product and service contracts, follows procurement policies, procedures and regulations to ensure that all procurements are placed according to appropriate guidelines and procedures, expedites orders for materials, supplies, and services, monitors vendor compliance, maintains and documents files as appropriate, serves on process improvement teams, negotiation teams, and evaluation panels. This position will promote a safe and secure atmosphere, follow all safety and security rules and perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have an Associate Degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Math, Engineering or a related field. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Applicants must have at least 1 to 3 years of work experience in a decision making and/or research analysis position. Purchasing and/or Public Sector contracting experience is a plus. Applicants must also have excellent oral and written communication skills and must be able to demonstrate those skills. Applicant must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e.: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), with a strong understanding of statistics. Bilingual abilities are a plus.

This person will work predominantly in an office type environment.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for up to 8 or more hours a day. The employee is frequently required to see, hear and speak. The employee may be required to work on a desktop computer for more than 5 hours a day. The employee is occasionally required to travel and work irregular hours.


Mental Demands

Reading, watching, studying, observing, focused listening, auditing, inspecting, proofreading, and evaluating. Ability to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans. Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); develop and interpret policy, procedures, and data; maintain emotional control under stress.
