Greater Cleveland Food Bank is Hiring a Warehouse Planner Near Cleveland, OH

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. This list is not all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  • Entering produce and perishable orders in the appropriate quantities designated per the established guidelines into warehouse management system.

  • Completing daily inventory transfers of product to the Marketplace (systematically and physically).

  • Evaluates the condition of the perishable inventory and create orders based on FEFO (First Expired First Out) and FIFO (First in First Out) methods.

  • Reviewing items in the warehouse management system for products nearing expiration and physically evaluating to extend the date systematically or use on the next available order to effectively reduce waste levels.

  • Conducts weekly cycle counts on produce inventory to ensure inventory integrity.

  • Enter weekly demand for Backpack inventory into WMS and conduct kitting function to pick and prepare inventory to be transferred to the Repack production department for assembly.

  • Enter monthly demand for CSFP inventory into WMS and conducts kitting function to pick and prepare inventory to be transferred to the Repack production department for assembly.

  • Participates in monthly produce planning meetings to determine appropriate inventory levels needed to satisfy distribution needs.

  • Participates in perishable meetings and responsible for presenting a list of inventory nearing expiration to collaborate on how to expedite distribution to minimize waste.

  • Assist with receiving functions as necessary.

  • Perform weekly LOT expiration reporting to effectively manage waste levels. Removing product from inventory that has expired (systematically and physically).

  • Processing product returns (systematically and physically)

None.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Four to five years warehouse experience. HS Diploma/GED required. College or technical school course work a plus. Inventory management experience preferred. Strong aptitude in Windows based computer software, specifically MS Office – Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook. Inventory management software experience preferred. Tow motor and pallet jack certified. Serve-safe certification preferred, but not required. Must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Must have the ability to prioritize multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.

Physical Requirements and Environment

The physical requirements for this position include: Ability to remain in a near constant stationary position. Ability to move about inside the office and to access truck cab and deliver product constantly. Ability to operate a computer or other office productivity machinery constantly. Ability to ascend/descend stairs to access work spaces frequently. Ability to position or move body to access filing cabinets or other work equipment constantly. Ability to constantly be able to exchange accurate information, take and give direction and hear safety warnings. Ability to constantly inspect product, judge distance between equipment, shelves and permanent structures. Ability to frequently detect spoiled product or quality of meals. Ability to move office equipment/supplies constantly. Ability to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis. The employee will be working in ambient, cooler and freezer temperatures to satisfy job requirements. The noise level in the work area is usually moderate.

Salary Range: $23.08 - $27.16 per hour
