Position Summary:
The IEP Specialist is primarily responsible for writing Individual Education Plans in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The IEP Specialist will collaborate with special education teachers, specialists, general education teachers, administration, students and parents to develop appropriate and effective IEPs that meet individual student needs. The IEP Specialist will support the facilitation of IEP meetings. The IEP Specialist may also provide mentoring, consultation, and support in implementing the IEP including; curriculum selection, program planning, scheduling of services, and data collection systems. The IEP Specialist may provide direct services, conduct student observations, and standardized assessments as needed. The IEP Specialist will follow regulations associated with IDEA, FAPE, and procedural safeguards for IEP development and implementation.
