Project Director - Wisconsin Native American Tobacco Network (WNATN)
Position Summary:
Identify Tribal commercial tobacco control issues, develop strategies and implement commercial tobacco prevention and control programs within Tribal communities. Work toward improving the quality of life for Tribal members through education, program development and implementation relative to traditional and sacred use of tobacco; commercial and recreational use of tobacco including vaping; prevention of commercial tobacco use among youth; commercial tobacco use and pregnancy; cessation with youth and adults; exposure to environmental tobacco smoke; and commercial tobacco-related disparities. Daily attendance is an essential job function. Frequent travel is required.

This is a full-time salary/exempt opportunity with a primary worksite of Lac du Flambeau, WI. This is not a remote position, but it does require frequent travel for the purposes of attending community and program related activities. This position has a salary range of $57,000 - $61,000 annually (based on experience) with benefits including Annual/Personal Leave, Holiday Pay, Health, Dental, Life, STD and LTD Insurance, FSA and 401(k) Retirement Plan. Background check and drug screen are required before employment.
Qualifications:
An equivalent combination of experience and education that would provide the required knowledge and abilities may be considered. Required: Knowledge and respect of traditional uses of tobacco within Native American culture. Ability to communicate responsively and effectively with diverse age and racial groups. Minimum three years of experience in health and human services. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a health and human service field. Experience with a Native American Tribal organization and/or not-for-profit agency. Grant writing and funding experience. Individual must possess: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; professional demeanor and appearance; problem solving skills; ability to manage time effectively; self-motivation skills; ability to work effectively under pressure; ability to build positive work relationships with internal and external customers; ability to interact professionally with a wide variety of people; speak in front of groups. Individuals must be able to apply advanced reasoning skills to problem solving and use basic mathematical skills. Must possess a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation with adequate insurance and ability to travel.
