The Maintenance Apprentice is an entry-level position in the Company’s building and grounds maintenance program with high upside potential. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the proper condition of multifamily properties and ensuring the safety and satisfaction of residents. The role offers excellent paid training to those who aspire to enter the maintenance field but who have little or no prior experience, and apprentices will have the opportunity to become full fledged maintenance technicians within 18 months. Specific functions and responsibilities include:

• During the spring and summer, support with conducting Spring Clean Up activities, including but not limited to, clearing debris, pruning shrubs, and preparing landscapes for the growing season.
• Support with the execution of Fall Clean Up tasks, such as leaf removal, garden bed maintenance, and preparing landscapes for the winter season.
• Assist with bonus projects as needed, which may include planting, mulching, and other landscaping enhancements.
• Maintaining clean and orderly common areas and property grounds
• Assisting senior maintenance technicians with work orders, unit turns, and other projects involving painting, general carpentry, and light electrical/plumbing tasks
• Training on higher-level maintenance tasks with the aim of promotion to a regular Maintenance Technician position

The Maintenance Apprentice's required skills and qualifications are as follows:

• Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions, including cold and snowy weather.
• A strong sense of responsibility and an ability to be punctual and reliable.
• Good physical condition and stamina for outdoor labor.
• A positive attitude, teamwork, and a commitment to safety.
• Experience in maintenance or snow removal is a plus but is not required.

The Maintenance Apprentice position is a full-time role estimated at 40 hours per week. The base pay for this position is $21 per hour. Full-time employees earn 12 days of PTO per year, 9 company holidays per year, and options for health insurance (Harvard Pilgrim) and dental/vision insurance (Delta Dental and Delta Vision) plans.
