Description

A Senior Business Law Attorney is high-level attorney with a practice focused on Business law for at least 10-15 years. The successful Senior Business Law attorney is self-directed and thrives with supported autonomy. The Senior Business Law Attorney generally generates most or all their own billable work. Some portion of their work may come through Gravis Law’s lead generation and marketing and/or other attorneys in the office. This position requires the ability to work closely with corporate clients, business unit leaders, business partners, as well as outside advisors and CPAs. The position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, participate in complex planning and transactions, and frequently interact with business owners and high-net-worth individuals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Minimum of 10 years of commercial transactions, including M&A, financing, and corporate legal experience required.
  • Experience managing due diligence, data rooms, and preparing disclosure schedules is required.
  • Knowledge of corporate matters concerning both closely held private companies, including formations, governance, and maintenance, as well as public companies, including fund raising and securities.
  • Ability to interact comfortably with management; work independently; strong drafting skills; exceptional interpersonal skills; highly team oriented.
  • Ability to distribute work and manage support provided by associate attorneys, paralegals and other support staff.
  • Commitment to professionalism; flexibility as to schedule for meeting transaction timeline and to the types of projects assigned; and solid business acumen required.
  • Ability to manage high pressure, time sensitive and complex business transactions.
  • Previous tax and securities experience is a plus.
  • Marketing yourself and the firm’s services to prospective clients
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

The Attorney is expected to meet all Quarterly Collection Requirements. Additional information about the Quarterly Collection Requirement and the Attorney Bonus Program has been provided to the Attorney for review and signature.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent legal research skills.
  • Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
  • Admission (or eligibility for reciprocal admission) to the bar in the state in which you intend to practice.
  • Typically, 10-15 years of experience as an attorney.

*Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted.

ATTORNEY EMPLOYEE BENEFITS, COMPENSATION & BONUS PROGRAM:

Gravis Law offers a professional work environment, a competitive salary including bonuses, along with generous benefits which generally include:

Wage: Potential total compensation is $150,000 - $250,000 per year with base and bonus

Bonus Program: The Attorney is expected to meet all Quarterly Collection Requirements. Additional information about the Quarterly Collection Requirement and the Attorney Bonus Program will be provided to the Attorney for review and signature.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Duties will be performed in a standard office environment. Employees must have the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with Gravis policy. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally be required to work weekends, holidays, be on call, and some employees could be required to travel overnight on occasion.
