Summary

Assists other team members in providing healthy meals to residents of the program comply with all State and Local regulations regarding the safe handling of food and assists in all related kitchen duties.

Qualifications:

• Requires current Serv Safe Certification (Food handler certificate)
• Good personal hygiene and well-kept appearance
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• If a recovering person, a minimum of one year of continuous sobriety and active participation in a program of recovery

Responsibilities:

• Preparation ad serving of food
• Keeping work area and kitchen clean
• Check the menu for the necessary thawing of ingredients
• Checking inventory and ordering food accordingly
• Making beverages for the facility
• Unloading, stocking, and dating of weekly food delivery
• Checking and logging refrigerator/freezer temperatures daily
• Checking and logging dishwasher temperatures 3 times daily
• Perform other duties as assigned

Competencies:

• Previous professional experience in food service or kitchen setting
• Ability to accurately measure food ingredients and portions
• Knowledge of basic principles of quantity food cooking and equipment use
• Ability to work and cooperate with all departments
• Ability to follow and stay within food budget
• Ability to follow menu, recipes, portion control, and diet orders
