This position is a temporary nurse residency program that will last a duration of 12 months, attentively ending July 2025. At the conclusion of the residency program, the RN will either transition to a casual registered nurse or the limited duration employment with Grande Ronde Hospital will end. The RN will be welcome to apply for open positions throughout the course of their residency. If the RN is awarded an open position they apply for, the RN will still be required to attend the monthly Nurse Residency classes until their full completion of the program. Future positions will be granted per the ONA contract.

The RN defines, gives, coordinates and evaluates the total nursing care of an assigned group of patients. The RN is responsible for the written Nursing Care Plan, acts as the patients advocate and is responsible for the direction and supervision of any personnel assigned to them. Must understand the nursing process and be able to communicate that therapeutically. Ability to lift 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects up to 25 pounds. Must be able to demonstrate strong personal integrity, stamina, and emotional stability.

Registered Nurse. BSN preferred. Graduated from accredited nursing school within the past 6 months or less. Experience with EMR systems. Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong advocate for patient safety, comfort and satisfaction. Verification of unrestricted licensure from the Oregon State Board of Nursing by start date. Current BLS upon hire, and ACLS, must obtain class within six months. Willing to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
