The Nurse Residency Coordinator/Nurse Educator (NRCNE) is responsible to the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer. The NRCNE is a member of the Nursing Administration team and functions as a leader/mentor to all appropriate staff. The NRCNE supports the recruitment, hiring, orienting, support, and education of nurse residency candidates. The NRCNE also coordinates the preceptor program for current nursing staff. This is accomplished through the development and implementation of various learning opportunities including simulations, in-services, skills updates, case reviews, and certification classes. The NRCNE will also work in tandem with the Clinical Nurse Educator to accomplish hospital-led initiatives including skill days, simulations, and certification courses. Will perform all other job duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate person-to-person, in group settings, and in writing.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Ability to assist with transport and set up of simulation equipment.
• Proficient computer skills and competence in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant applications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current Oregon RN license in good standing.
• BSN required.
• Minimum of five years of experience in clinical nursing practice is required.
• Minimum of two years of experience in staff education and development is preferred.
• Highly motivated, team-oriented, self-directed, and committed to the enhancement of the organization's professional growth.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or attainable within one year of hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification preferred or attainable within one year of hire.
