Position Summary: In compliance with regulations and company policy, our Director of Nursing & Wellness leads the care team in delivering quality service to our residents. This includes conducting assessments, hiring, training, and developing employees as well as educating and ensuring levels of care for residents, families, and outside vendors.

Experience & Qualifications:
  • Enthusiasm for life and adding value to the lives of others
  • LPN or RN
  • Working knowledge of Rule 5, residential care regulations
  • At least 2 years of working with seniors
  • Understanding of basic budgeting and financial reporting
  • Knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in healthcare, specifically resident care facilities
  • Willingness to keep abreast of changing standards in nursing administration
  • Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel
  • Valid CPR, TB, and First Aid Certification
  • Organized with demonstrated follow through with detail
  • Strive for excellence. Previous experience in customer service.
  • Lead by example in practicing good judgment and confidentiality
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities with success
  • Great communication skills to interact with various customers in conversations and writing.
  • Ability to establish confidence and trust
  • Desire to act like an owner in day-to-day decision-making and problem-solving as well as accountability
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Office and the ability to learn specific software
  • Ability to adapt the schedule to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours to ensure a quality customer experience and to meet deadlines
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Drive collaboration of care resources, internal and external, to meet standards and drive quality outcomes in resident care based on resident preferences and choice
  • Timely reporting and resolution of any regulatory issues/concerns
  • Recruit, train, and schedule care team (including LPNs, QMAs, and CNAs) to make sure the staff is used in the best way possible and all residents can be cared for
  • Oversight of medication program and pharmacy provider through quarterly med pass observations and records audit
  • Address educational needs of staff to keep current and confident on patient care procedures
  • Counsel patients on self-care so they fully understand their options and how to take care of themselves
  • Educate the public on staying healthy, living with diabetes, and relevant topics related to aging
  • Conduct assessments prior to move and develop resident care plans with quarterly updates
  • Monitor daily care & maintaining resident electronic health records in alignment with diagnosis, HIPAA compliance, and resident rights
  • Evaluate staff performance in compliance with State Regulations as well as company policy
  • Oversight of department budget
  • Responsible for ordering department supplies and implementing process to monitor supplies
  • Develops and delivers required in-service training to staff for state compliance
  • Participates in community marketing with an emphasis on family and community involvement
  • Executes good judgment in the best interest of residents. Explains and educates.
  • Effectively resolves resident/team member concerns through consistent problem resolution in alignment with policy
  • Participates in a work safe environment through workplace safety policies including PPE, fire extinguishers, and SDS
  • Contributes to an environment of belonging for residents, families, and employees
  • Models flexibility and professional conduct in adjusting priorities to meet business demands
  • Ensures confidentiality in alignment with HIPAA, state/federal regulations as well as company policy
  • Provides or arranges for 24/7 nursing support for community issues and emergencies
  • Other duties as assigned
