JOB OVERVIEW:

Ensures the highest level of cleanliness and safety in all public beach areas. To provide outstanding customer service and anticipate guest needs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

QUALIFICATIONS

• Service orientation.
• Able to work as part of a dynamic quality-driven team.
• Should have ability to communicate effectively (English & Spanish Preferred)
• Able to push, stand, stoop, bend, and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds repetitively during entire shift.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Previous experience working in customer service.
• Previous guest relations training.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

• Exert physical effort in transporting 40 pounds.
• Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
• To be physically active in cleaning areas around the hotel.
• Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Staffing of a hospitality-oriented beach attendant and/or manager on duty from 8am-5/6pm (or sundown depending on season) subject to in-house hotel screening.
• Attendant should be neat & have a pleasant personality.
• Attendant should have the ability to work on feet for an extended period of time.
• Attendant should have ability to communicate effectively (English & Spanish Preferred)
• Attendant rakes the beach to keep clean throughout the shift and prior to leaving each day.
• Attendant provides towel, chair, & umbrella service for hotel guests and/or public for a fee.
• Attendant stores beach equipment at the end of each shift
• Attendant issues & returns all used towels to the property at the end of each shift taking inventory at the beginning and end of day.
• Attendant and/or manager monitors all activity on beach and reports any/all issues to the property in a daily log.
• Attendant and/or manager participates, when necessary, in hotel staffing meetings
• Attendant has constant awareness of safety hazards (broken glass, frayed electrical cords, broken locks, and suspicious persons) and report to security and/or direct supervisor.
• Attendant practices safety standards at all times
• Attendant reports to work on time and according to posted schedule.
• Attendant will remain alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and co-workers at all times.
• Attendant has ability to lift 50-75lbs.
• Attendant keeps all areas free of debris & trash. Skims the pool & keeps all furniture clean & in good repair. Reports all damage.

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS

• Perform other tasks as requested.
• Attend any meetings as required by supervisor.
• Assist guests with any additional needs or requests.

Within the first 30 days must be able to perform to standard all activities on the New Hire Training Checklist.
