Position Description: POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs daily Bike Patrol operations and maintains a safe environment on and off mountain for Granby Ranch guests.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Patrol, monitor and maintain all trails and signage within the Granby Ranch trail network, enforcing ticketing and safety rules.
Assist guests in every aspect of resort operations, giving thorough answers and resources.
Maintains a neat and orderly first aid room.
Handles lift evacuations, first aid and transport of injured guests from the mountain and all facilities of the resort, as required.
Reads, understands and adheres to the current Bike Patrol and employee policies and procedure manuals.
Attends and maintains up to date medical and company policy training.
Maintain first-aid supply bags, administer first-aid when necessary, Document incidents requiring first-aid
Attendance at designated meeting times on days scheduled to work.
Trail maintenance as required on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis Will work outdoors, in a variety of weather conditions, including extreme mountain weather.
Other Trail Maintenance is required, Fence line work, Roping, fencing and work with and around heavy machinery..
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attends and adheres to ongoing training programs.
Own their own appropriate bicycle. (Enduro or downhill encouraged)
Performs inspection and some maintenance on ones own bike (Basic understanding of bike maintenance)
Assist other departments as needed. (events, weddings, lift operations, ETC)
All other duties as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Outdoor rescue skills.
Ability to ride all trains in all conditions is preferred.
Ability to interact courteously and honestly with guests and fellow employee.
General knowledge of heavy equipment operation.
Superior bike abilities and stability on all terrain and in varying weather conditions.
Valid Driver License is required
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must possess current OEC, EMT certifications or higher.
Must possess current CPR certification.
Experience with mountain biking required.
Must be a minimum 18 years old.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is primarily on mountain on a bike. Knee and/or back testing may be required.
Outdoor work in mountain environment with variable weather conditions.
Must be physically capable to perform strenuous exercise at 8,000 - 10,000 feet with adverse weather conditions.
