Junior Accountant (Temporary)
Position Overview:
Carry out financial functions including preparing bank reconciliation statements, analyzing general ledger accounts and performing journal entries. Ensures excellence and continuous quality improvement in the financial accounting areas.
Program Specific Responsibilities:
- Responsible for monthly bank account reconciliations.
- Analyze GL accounts (including prepaid expenses, employee advances, and savings accounts)
- Record expensing of Prepaid Items including Corporate Credit Card Bills.
- Record investment transactions and maintain investment schedules.
- Assist Senior Accountant in working with external auditors.
- Perform Internal Audits.
- Ensures excellence and continuous quality improvement in the financial accounting areas.
- Special Projects as assigned by Supervisor or other senior administrators.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree preferred, or a satisfactory equivalent of education and/or experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ related experience in bank reconciliation, general ledger and journal entries
- Must possess excellent computer skills. MS Office (Excel, Word and spreadsheet application).
- Must be familiar with computerized accounting systems preferably Micro Information Products.
- Ability to perform quantitative/mathematical analysis.
- Time management, analytical and organizational skills.
