The Merchandiser maintains the quality and integrity of Graeter’s ice cream in assigned grocery market by acting as a sales ambassador for Graeter’s by maintaining relationships with customers and answering their questions and concerns.

THIS JOB IS FOR YOU IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THE FOLLOWING JOB DUTIES: 

1) Managing product in the Stores 

• Maintain shelves according to customer and/or Company Plan-O-Grams 
• Stocking shelves at selected stores on day designated by the Area Sales Merchandiser 
• Move carts of product in storage freezers and arrange product from carts to shelves in storage freezers 
• Move product from storage freezers to sales floor freezers 
• Communicate with Area Sales Merchandiser with any issues or news that arises 

2) Maintaining Store Relationships 

• Act as a sales ambassador for Graeter’s in protecting and promoting the brand 
• Interacting with store personnel and customers while maintaining a professional attitude 
• Having strong company knowledge to be able to answer questions and concerns regarding our product 

3) Intrapersonal Skills 

• Work well with others 
• Handle multiple tasks effectively 
• Ability to organize work 
• Maintain good relations with co-workers 
• Maintain professional attitude 
• Show courtesy to co-workers, customers, and others with whom contact occurs 

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Language: Ability to read product labels and differentiate between products. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers. 
• Math: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, and percentages 
• Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form 
• Certificates and Licenses: Driver’s license with clean driving record 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach above the shoulder or below the waist with hands and arms and to stoop, kneel, or crouch. Additionally, the employee frequently lifts 40 pounds and occasionally push/pull carts weighing up to 800 pounds. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work for up to 15 minutes at a time in walk-in freezers at temperatures as low as -20º F.
