Business Operations Manager
Location: Hartford, Connecticut
Salary: $74,000 - $128,000

Our Workforce Management, Reporting & Analytics team is seeking a talented Business Operations Analyst to support daily operational activities and enhance efficiencies within our Life and DI New Business & Underwriting organization. About the Role
As a Business Operations Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in providing insights through data visualization and business analytics. Embedded within the organization, you will support real-time needs and create non-standard reports to drive improvements. Your work will enable leaders to make tactical and strategic decisions based on data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Visualization & Analytics: Utilize tools like Tableau, Alteryx, Python, SQL, R, and Power BI to blend and present data in digestible formats.
- Operational Support: Perform complex research and analysis to support business operations, distilling insights and presenting findings to managers and operational leaders.
- Problem-Solving: Develop recommendations to solve problems and overcome obstacles related to business operations and strategic initiatives.
- Reporting & Monitoring: Monitor key business drivers such as productivity, efficiency, and service level results. Support monthly business review meetings with senior leadership.
- Innovation & Process Improvement: Establish new ways of monitoring success, identify data and reporting optimization opportunities, and drive process improvements.
- Collaboration: Work independently and with management on high-visibility projects. Serve as a key resource for resolving unique or complex business problems.
- Communication: Act as a champion for analytics capabilities, communicating their benefits and how they can be implemented across the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience: 3 years in operational analysis, business intelligence technologies, and using tools like Tableau, Alteryx, Python, SQL, R, Power BI, and Excel.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, conflict management, and planning skills with cross-functional teams. Ability to apply judgment to balance process compliance with business objectives.
- Analytical Abilities: Ability to analyze trends, identify problem-solving opportunities, and establish KPIs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry Knowledge: Insurance operations/Finance Services experience.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and a self-starter with minimal supervision.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate objectives, plans, status, and results clearly. Collaborate effectively across diverse teams and organizations.
