Graceland Rehabilitation and Nursing is looking for dedicated and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to join the team!

Job Types: Full-time

Salary: $130,000 to 140,000 per year.

About us: Graceland Rehabilitation and Nursing is a skilled nursing facility and rehabilitation center. We are resident-centered and quality-focused! We are committed to creating a nurturing, family-like atmosphere where staff develop meaningful relationships with residents and where exceptional patient outcomes are the standard.

Responsibilities of the Director of Nursing (DON):

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the nursing service department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the nursing care facilities.

  • Make recommendations for developing, maintaining, and periodically updating the Policy and Procedure Manual to the Administration and VP, Clinical Services.

  • Develop and implement a nursing service organization structure.

  • Develop methods for coordination of nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents’ total regimen of care.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain an ongoing quality assurance program for the nursing service department.

  • Participate in Facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies, as necessary or as may be directed.

  • Assist the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies.

  • Assist the Discharge Planning Coordinator in developing, implementing, and periodically updating the written procedures for the Discharge Planning Program.

  • Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary.

Requirements of the Director of Nursing (DON):

  • Registered Nurse with current state license.

  • 3 years of supervisory experience in a long-term care setting preferred.

  • Must have a current/active CPR certification.

  • Excellent technical, assessment and documentation skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to lift fifty (50) or more pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.

  • Able to stand and/or walk for more than four (4) hours per day.

  • Able to bend and/or stoop for more than one (1) hour at a time.
